Semi-Private Training
Yuhas Performance Training (YPT) focuses on group-based or semi-private training with its athletes and clients. The group-based approach has proven successful in many different arenas including collegiate and professional sports, physical therapy and adult recreational settings.
YPT’s performance enhancement group training guarantees an athlete/client-to-coach ratio of no more than 6:1 and in most cases, closer to 3:1. Athletes/clients are closely supervised as the coach takes them through the comprehensive training session where strict attention is paid to proper technique and safety.
Other benefits of semi-private training include:
- A more affordable approach than the classic private (one-on-one) training model that typifies the fitness industry. As such, our athletes/clients can train with greater frequency at a fraction of the cost and therefore, make faster progress.
- Provides a motivating, unconditionally positive learning environment. Not every day is going to be your best and if you’re down, there is always someone alongside to pick you up. All our athletes/clients meet new people and develop strong friendships with those with whom they train. Friendships transcend school rivals as well as gender and age groups. Yuhas Performance Training makes training enjoyable and in the process, you discover that you’re capable of things that you’d never thought possible!
- Surrounds you with coaches and training partners who serve as means of holding you accountable to someone other than just yourself.
Despite the fact our athletes/clients train in a group setting, each is coached individually. Although groups follow a general template, each individual workout can be modified to address specific needs and issues.

Athlete Performance
Athlete Performance Training programs last 1.5 hours and has a different daily training emphasis. Each workout focuses on improving the athlete’s ability to become more mobile, stable, powerful, stronger and more efficient in their ability to move while reducing susceptibility to injury. Each athlete follows a progressive exercise routine (progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered) with a strong focus on basic and correct technique. During each session, we focus on the following:
Warm-up
- Mobility and flexibility
- Muscle activation and dynamic flexibility
- Balance and stabilization
- Nervous system activation
Speed development
- Acceleration and deceleration techniques
- Linear and lateral movement mechanics
Explosive power
- Medicine Ball work
- Jump Training
- Olympic lifting techniques
Strength Training
- Functional strength training
- Core strength development
Conditioning
- Linear and lateral conditioning
- Sport Specific Energy System Development
Nutrition Education
- Meal planning/nutrient timing advice
- Proper supplement education
Athlete Performance - In-Season
The In-Season program is an abbreviated version of our full off-season program. Sessions last just under an hour and focus on helping athletes who have been training with us to maintain and even improve upon the results they achieved during the off-season program. During the spring we offer a "floating schedule" to accommodate busy athletic as well as school schedules. Upon joining the "floating" in-season program, athletes/clients will commit to training two days per week. However, due to the chaotic nature of athletic schedules and postponements we will be asking our in-season athletes to schedule their sessions on
non-consecutive days on a
week-by-week basis based upon their schedule for the upcoming week. This format will ensure training groups will not exceed the 6 person limit. We know this may sound confusing but we are trying to accommodate our athletes as best we can. Please call if you need further explanation regarding our in-season policy.
Adult Performance Training Groups
At YPT we feel strongly that people should train like athletes! After all, whether they will admit it or not most people want their bodies to look and perform like athletes! Therefore, our Adult Performance Training is very similar to the performance training groups for athletes and includes all components with the exception of linear and lateral speed development. Adult recreational sports such as golf, tennis, basketball, skiing, softball, volleyball and hockey all place tremendous demands on our bodies. Our adult performance programs will help:
- Reduce the chance of getting injured while participating in the activity you enjoy!
- Increase Energy and Stamina
- Improve Mobility and Flexibility
- Improve Balance and Stability
- Improve Strength and Power
- Reduce Body Fat and Increase Lean Muscle
- Enhance Work, Recreation, and Sport Performance
Adult Fat Loss/Metabolic Training
The single best exercise protocol to help reduce body fat is to perform high intensity metabolic circuits. These types of circuits cause the greatest amount of metabolic disturbance within our bodies resulting in elevated metabolic rates for up to 36 hours post workout! At YPT we love these types of workouts and they are becoming very popular in the mainstream fitness culture in the form of bootcamps and such things as the P90X! Although we believe whole-heartedly in this type of training, our concern is that individuals jump into programs like these before they are ready which usually leads to injury, failure or both. Participating in our Fat Loss programs will ensure that you are properly progressed based on your ability and work capacity levels. As you move through the program, intensities will increase to continually challege you to ensure you achieve your fat loss goals.
Youth Performance
Our new Youth Performance group training program is geared toward the 10-12 year old population. These fun, but intense, sessions are implemented to help young athletes improve overall athleticism including:
- Stability and Balance Training
- Coordination and Motor Learning
- Movement skill acquisition (linear and lateral movement skills)
- Strength and Power
- Nutrition Education
Sessions are fast-paced with a circuit type approach to accommodate short attention spans! Participants will be challenged physically and mentally and will be having so much fun they'll never know what hit 'em!!
Personal Training
Personal Training at Yuhas Performance Training is an excellent option for someone who prefers a 1:1 coaching relationship as their primary form of training or for people with variable schedules - including athletes, executives and stay-at-home moms/dads.
Coach Yuhas has the experience to help you succeed; this experience helps Tim to balance challenge, enjoyment, and results for every one of his clients.
Because the primary focus of YPT is group based training, there are a limited number of one-on-one training openings for those who prefer that approach. Tim is also available for one-time consultations.
